The problem with “free” education is that it’s difficult to get into those colleges. Do you think everyone in foreign countries gets to go to college free? Nope, they have to WORK for it. TEST for it. Things that are anathema in the U.S. Community College is free in my state and there are so many students who have absolutely no business being there, but it’s free, so hey, why not waste a few years doing nothing (and I teach there, I DO mean doing nothing).
