If memory serves, the Yankees won the World Serious in 2009. And have done naught since.
The Red Sox won the WS in 2013, and their division title this year, and have just now lost in Round 1 of the playoffs to the Cleveland Indians. I will say that the Sox immediate future looks much brighter than does the Yanks. At least the players to whom the Sox are still paying mega-dollars are still playing baseball, and playing well.
