Mr. Stewart’s most pointed barbs were aimed at the media hypocrisy itself. From Fox to MSNBC and many points between, he used their own footage to reveal the bias and hypocrisy of their reporting. Mr. Obama doesn’t know where to be sad or relieved with Mr. Stewart’s future absence as Mr. Obama and his party were rarely spared when they failed to live up to their rhetoric. Many might believe Mr. Stewart was a tool of the left, but he hammered any and all who lied while hiding behind a banner of truth and he used video footage of their own words to prove it. Sadly, too many would either ignore those proofs, or accuse Mr. Stewart of taking things out of context. As the song from “Phantom of the Opera” says… “Close your eyes for your eyes will only show the truth, and the truth isn’t what you want to see; In the dark it is easy to believe, that the truth is what the truth should be.”Jon Stewart brought the Phantoms into the light, and we failed to bring them down. He’s tired of fighting a war by himself.Respectfully,C.
