Let’s see… if someone doing something irresponsible criticizes someone else for doing something irresponsible, then that irresponsibility of the critic negates the irresponsibility of the one being criticized… and the consequences of the criticized action, right? Uh, no!
Well, there is this headline: “South Carolina protest organizer urges attendees to get tested after several contract virus.” So it seems that, yes, there was almost certainly some spreading at the BLM protests, which could have been avoided by avoiding the protests. But I suspect most of those folks at least made an informed decision.
Meanwhile, 6 of Trump’s staff tested positive even before his rally started. And I just saw a report that two Secret Service members have also tested positive. Now, in spite of the low turnout, I wonder how many members of his audience will test positive (or show symptoms without a test) in the next couple of weeks.
Have they managed to trace where and how the Trump staffers and Secret Service became infected? Have they even tried, or are they in denial about trying? Is Trump trying to avoid the virus, or is he foolishly assuming — as some of his statements have suggested — that he can’t be infected unless a test shows that he’s infected. Did somebody tell him about Schrödinger’s cat?
