Here we go again. Gore lost more states than just Tennessee, and any of them would have won him the election. The most likely was Florida where (as it happened) he did win the most votes, as USA Today found when they counted all the ballots later. He also won the popular vote in the entire country, which of course counts for nothing. But he didn’t win in the supreme court, which is where it counts. So, the cartoon is appropriate — the supreme court has established that it will intervene in elections to help Republicans, and could probably be counted on again.
