So using the debit card does the same thing, however I have heard of some research that says using a plastic card actually contributes to you spending more. I am contemplating moving more to just cash. However the twits at Visa and MasterCard have made some trials lately where they pay the stores to not take cash and only accept plastic. Why? Because people spend more when using plastic, which means that their fees for processing the transactions increase.
