PS: Good grades matter, some. But even more important is grades that trend consistently never worse. And even then, only to get into a good school. And even that doesn’t matter very much unless you get into a field where having a wide (but shallow) pool of friends is more important than good mentors and knowledge. As an engineer, I could get a perfectly good education at any University that had an engineering department with more than 4 profs. Ditto for other “do it” careers. The “name quality” of the school only matters if you are going to deal with (people who deal with) labels rather than things.
