Luann: What characters did you used to like, Dad? dad: Oh, Rocky and Bullwinkle...Beanie and Cecil... Luann: Who're they? Dad: Well, Rocky was a flying squirrel, Bullwinkle was a dumb moose, and Beanie was a kid who hung around with Cecil the seasick sea serpent. Luann: Ah. Well, there's certainly nothing weird about that.
Frank’s puzzlement over TMNT was typical of someone who approaches these things completely “from the outside”, unaware of their origin in a self-published comic that was partially a satire based upon Frank Miller’s run on “Daredevil”. Oh, yeah, and “Rocky and Bullwinkle” provided the source for my username.
