Tiffany: "This year, I dropped my phone in the toilet, got drenched by a gummed-up drinking fountain in hall C, snagged my skirt on a desk in math a dealt with barfy smells and an idiot lab partner in biology. One of my late uncles was a messenger in WWII, he was captured (POW) 3 times, escaped twice and liberated the last time. Another uncle was a waist gunner in a bomber that was shot down, he was declared KIA (papers sent to mother, etc), his name was engraved on the memorial wall at the county seat (Tampa), and he (finally) came home to his family (very much alive). They were a tough bunch.
