I have to feel sorry for Gunther. His shyness is hindering the development of a relationship with Rosa.

Gunther & Rosa reminded me of the movie “Goodbye Mr. Chips” (1939) with Robert Donat & Greer Garson. “Chips’ was a shy person who because of his shyness. Some people thought of him as being unsociable. In the film after he ’rescues Greer Garson from a mountain top. Katherine (Greer Garson) remarks to her travelling companion that *”Shy people are the loneliest people in the world."*
