All the way back in the 60’s & 70’s, all the tightwad accountant controllers were always trying to dream up ways of getting out of paying for the bags that bear the name of their company and are actually a part of their advertising. (I worked for some prominent retailers at the time and had inside info.) What a coup it was for them to convince the public- and governments(!) what a wonderful thing they were doing for the environment, when they were really only trying to increase profits!
