Dad; What are you doing, boy? You cooking? Marcus: Mom's making me help with dinner. Dad: When I was your age I wasn't allowed in the kitchen. Cooking was women's work! Ha ha ha! Heh... heh... c'mon, baby! Do I have to wear this apron? Marcus: At least yours isn't pink.
that was how I was raised… cooking and cleaning and housework was woman’s work. I had to teach myself how to do everything in my last year of high school when my mother died. I think that lesson taught by my parents generation is a good one to be ignored and forgotten.
