Americans, especially Republicans/Fox “news” viewers, do NOT want to prevent illegal immigration. If they did, they would want businesses who hire them to be prosecuted.
What they do want, is to punish immigrants.
Someone like Trump claims he will deport illegals, all while hiring them to provide cheap labor for his ‘hospitality’ enterprises. And Fox “news” viewers cheer and cheer and cheer.
In a totally unrelated coincidence, Trump loves the poorly educated.
