So let’s see … earlier this year it was TrumpubliQan CANCEL CULTURE whining that Hasbro Inc (a private, for-profit corporation of the kind that Republicans USED TO SAY they didn’t think should be regulated) makes a business decision about a toy PLASTIC POTATO, and Dr Seuss Enterprises (a private, for-profit corporation of the kind that Republicans USED TO SAY they didn’t think should be regulated) makes a business decision about fewer than 1/10 of its older books (that weren’t selling well anyway), and then Warner Brothers (a private, for-profit corporation of the kind that Republicans USED TO SAY they didn’t think should be regulated, whose Looney Tunes features Pepe LePew) decides not to include that character in an upcoming animated feature, the GQP “cancel culture” goes ballistic and wants to CANCEL private businesses’ rights to make business decisions.
And now they have moved on to Public Broadcasting System (PBS), that does receive some public support, but relies mostly on private-sector corporate and private individual donation.
