The humor is skewed, but it’s typical for Bushmiller and that period. I remember reading a “Nancy” comic book in the early ‘60s. The gag in one story involved using bees to get back at somebody. Sluggo has come up with the idea and says, "Two bees or not two bees? That’s not the question, that’s the ANSWER!" I wish I could forget that bad pun, but actually not too many months go by that I don’t remember it. .And yes, I agree about the new strips, but there was a kerfuffle about it, and Plastino made the conscious decision to update them. Otherwise, the strip might have gone out of existence. I’m still not used to seeing Aunt Fritzie full length rather than just sternum up from behind walls.
