Aunt Fritzi: Before we go out we must feed the animals. Nancy: Okay. I'll feed the dog and cat and bird--- ---And the turtle and the fish. ---And YOU can feed HIM.
HURRAH for the Good Old Days! Where else would you be able to see Nancy AND Aunt Fritzi wearing coats – A Curtain on the window – Nancy with actual BAGS in her arms – a dog AND a cap in the SAME picture with a bird in an actual BIRDCAGE, on a TABLE! – PLUS a fish in an actual fishbowl and a turtle in an aquarium on top of a cabinet which has actual knobs for opening the doors – and then – to top it all off – we get to see a Piggy bank which LOOKS like a pig – on a table! I don’t think they could do this strip in the so-called “modern” Nancy strip – because it would be impossible to get the point if there were NO dog, cat, bird, turtle, piggy bank, tables, hutch, birdcage, fish bowl, or aquarium!
