Charlie Brown and Lucy are walking to the end of the curb. He looks to his left, holds out his hand, and says, "We're going to cross the street now, Lucy...hold on to my hand"

She exclaims, "I Will Not! I've never held hands with a boy yet, and I'm not going to start now!" He puts his hands to his face, grimaces, and mutters, "Oh, Good Grief!"

He glowers at her and exclaims, "You can stand here all day then as far as I'm concerned!" She replies, "No, I'll tell you what I'll do...I'll put on my mittens..."

She holds his hand and concludes, "This makes it less intimate!"

And this greatly shows Lucy’s extreme dislike of Charlie Brown.
