Lucy approaches Charlie Brown on the baseball field. She shouts,"Hi, Manager! I'm rarin' to go!! I'm looking forward to a great season!"<br> <br> She stands next to Charlie Brown and smiles. Lucy continues, "Yes, sir...I've been thinking about nothing but baseball for weeks now.. yes, sir.."<br> <br> She asks, "Do you think Minneapolis will take the Yankees this year?"<br> <br> Charlie Brown walks away. Lucy exclaims, "Some manager! He isn't even interested in baseball talk!"<br> <br>
Minneapolis did not have a major league baseball team until 1961. They did however have the minor league Minneapolis Millers. The Millers won the Junior World Series in 1958, while the Yankees won the Major League World Series that year. I think that Schulz must have been very proud of his hometown Millers.
