He walks in the grass and thinks, "I've been anxious to have Woodstock see my new racket . . ."<BR><BR> Snoopy holds the tennis racket near the ground while Woodstock looks at it.<BR><BR> Woodstock speaks.<BR><BR> Woodstock walks away. Snoopy thinks, "How disappointing . . . He hates my gut!"<BR><BR>
If a pun was intended in the last panel(as we all know, the expression “hate one’s guts” means to hate someone fiercely and immensely), Schulz must have done a good job; of course Snoopy would be crushed to learn that Woodstock hates his gut(in either sense, for that matter.)
