A sign on the pitcher's mound reads, "All conferences on the pitcher's mound have been cancelled until further notice"<BR><BR> Lucy stands out in the field. She calls, "Pitch it to 'im, Charlie Brown!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown stands hunched over on the mound, concentrating.<BR><BR> Lucy walks.<BR><BR> Lucy approaches Charlie Brown, who is in wind-up position, and from behind she asks, "What's this? You're going to throw him a curve?"<BR><BR> "This is no time to be throwing a curve...a knuckle ball is the pitch..a knuckle ball will catch him flat-footed!" Charlie Brown is still in wind-up position.<BR><BR> Lucy reaches to Charlie Brown's hand, and changes the position of his fingers. She offers, "Why don't I just fix your fingers here so you can catch this guy flat-footed with a knuckle ball?" Charlie Brown says, "?!"<BR><BR> She bends to kiss his fingers, adding, "There! And now we'll give each little finger a kiss for good luck!...Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" Charlie Brown is still in wind-up position.<BR><BR> "And one extra little ol' kiss for the thumb!" She kisses: "SMAK!" [PANEL 10]: Charlie Brown shouts, "IF YOU DON'T GET BACK IN CENTERFIELD WHERE YOU BELONG, I'M GONNA BREAK ALL YOUR ARMS!"<BR><BR> Lucy walks back, saying, "He'll apologize when that knuckle ball catches that guy flat-footed..."<BR><BR>
I think Lucy likes Charlie Brown.
