I have to point out that Massachusetts and South Carolina have been the loudest disturbers of the peace throughout this county’s existence!Mass. roused up all the rabble against the English king & parliament just because the British thought that we should start to pay up our share of the costs for fighting the French & Native American tribes!South Carolina refused to even consider siding with the other 12 colonies unless assured that the Declaration of Independence did NOT include Negroes, and did it again before ratifying the Constitution! The ink of their rep’s signatures was not even dry yet when they began threatening to leave the Union every time a law was passed which they did not like.
Massachusetts was “heard” again when Nixon carried the other 49 states to his second presidential victory! Our silence was deafening!
