Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for May 27, 2014
Transcript:
Max: Are you all right? Phoebe: I lost my balloon. Now it's off on some unpredictable adventure of its own. Max: Actually, I could tell you exactly where it's going and what's going to happen to it. Phoebe: You're going to, aren't you. Phoebe: Unless you leave. Some people choose that option.
It’s going up to the lower stratosphere, where it will burst due to equalising pressure on the inside and outside, it will then fall to the ground (and get eaten by a cow or deer (see note below on turtles)) but most probably the ocean where it will either be eaten by a sea turtle (causing it’s untimely demise) or will be washed up on to the shore of a floating litter island in the Indian ocean, where if might one day biodegrade
It would be nice to think that those litter islands were of some use to nature rather than a danger ;-)
