How about some of these parents spend some of that energy and time they waste on reading about ADD and taking kids to docs (who get kickbacks from writing prescriptions), on their kids for a change. Turn off their TV’s, video games and computers and read together, or go for a nice walk, or do something that requires patience and concentration. If more people taught their kids skills that require patience and concentration maybe more kids would find it easier to BE patient and more able to concentrate.

my 16 year old will do the grocery shopping for me sometimes and he will only buy what I ask, and he often will choose the healthier item over the junk food.. in fact when he was younger he had a serious hate-on for anything processed or “junky”…. refusing burgers with processed cheese and such..then he turned into a teenager LOL :)But since I fed him healthy REAL food ONLY for the first 5 years or so, it has stuck and although he likes SOME junk food, he will make sure that he has healthy food on a regular basis, and says that he doesn’t feel good if he doesn’t.

What does having a fear of Thunder Storms have to do with being an adult? She WAS the adult by making sure the girls were inside before the storm starts, also, according to Teena, has taught her all the ways to be safe during a storm… doesn’t that ALSO make her the adult? Maybe I’m missing something?
