I love C&H and Bill Watterson’s wit, but The Simpsons aired an episode in which Bart went through this same type of thing three and a half years before this strip series. Probably one of the earliest instances where you can say, “Simpsons did it.”

You’d also have to change the name of the comments section to “Amateur Groaners.”

Anyone who read this have any insight [real, that is, not some limp pun] as to why Bloom County is a just a bunch of randomly strung together Sunday strips that jump all over its timeline? Why can’t we read the dailies in order?

I know you won’t see this Aaron, but come on, the station is called B. E(ntertainment). T. I haven’t watched in years and years, but do they have a non-entertainment journalism division?

I hadn’t heard about NOLA wanting Jazz back, but it could actually work out pretty well. Utah is the Beehive State, so it’s not a far stretch to go to hornets, unless hornets actually don’t thrive in Utah. But a straight name switch would be interesting and probably unprecedented in professional sports.

Ignoring the coincidence with recent events factor, this strip is just plain ignorant and honestly a bit racist in its ignorance. A bomb in movie/entertainment parlance refers to something that is financially unsuccessful, irrespective of artistic merit. While I don’t care for his work, to call Tyler Perry’s work bombs while they consistently rake in the cash due to their appeal to the majority of black America (I don’t know how his foray into the world of Alex Cross went) is just, like I said, ignorantly misinformed. But hey, if you pay attention to BC, these guys do have a slightly conservative bent, which could blled over into what might be currently (and apologistically) called “accidental racism.”

I kind of knew they’d probably turn it into attractiveness, but I too always referred to them as the baby orangutan they got to play the youngest.
