Of course you shouldn’t do this to your best friend but sometimes these kinds of utterly stupid but formally correct explanations are useful. Once I fell asleep while driving my car and crashed. The police tried to get me convicted for this (reckless driving) but I filed a letter full of scientific jargon and a long chain of reasoning leading to the conclusion that I was not guilty. And the prosecutor bought it! The case was dismissed.
So far we have Quantum loop gravity and String theory. And now apparently Rat beer therory. We’ll see in the coming years which of them will withstand observations and experiments. My guess is that the prevailing theory will favour (or favor as you americans prefer it spelled) scotch single malt whisky…
@danman1979, it’s a question of frequency of usage. Both forms are always correct. Hung is in general more frequent than hanged (past tense). The exception is when you mean “a way of executing people by hanging”, then it’s the other way around.I.e. Pastis did not make an error.
Here in Sweden we have a tradition of actually EATING a pig every Christmas eve. It’s called “christmas ham”. Everyone is doing it.
