Indeed it is. I learned that lesson the HARD WAY in grammar school. Like I said before, the bullies I had to deal with KNEW DAMN WELL from the beginning that the teacher, the principal, and even the parish pastor (I went to a private Catholic elementary school back in the 1970s) were ALWAYS, ALWAYS going to side with them (not me) in the end! I believe this was primarily due to the fact that I have an Italian surname — and back in the 1970s, the Catholic parish and elementary school I attended was PREDOMINANTLY IRISH (i.e. at least 80%) !

““Stand up to bullies, and they will back down,” they told me in grade school. I never saw it work. Not ever.”

AMEN TO THAT WildeBill. It certainly DID NOT work for me when I was in grade school, especially given the fact that the bullies I had to deal with KNEW DAMN WELL that the teacher and the principal were ALWAYS, ALWAYS going to side with them (not me) in the end!

Or a tugboat near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco Bay (remember the movie “George of the Jungle” with Brendan Fraser playing the title role?).

LOL! I can’t help but think of when my mother-in-law saw her two grandchildren for the very first time in the hospital’s NICU back in September 2009 (I have twin sons that were born two months premature).

“The people of Europe realize that a well educated populace is a great benefit to society and are willing to pay for it.”

Indeed they are mattro53 — and in the words of the late great Tony Benn (a former senior British Parliament official) from Michael Moore’s masterpiece movie “Sicko”:

“An educated populace is difficult to control”

Answer: The government (i.e. the taxpayers) — but, then again, that’s primarily because unlike the U.S., governments in Europe don’t have a VERY BLOATED military industrial complex.

No, Nermal would undoubtedly be wrapped up in a small package on a cargo jet bound for Abu Dhabi!
