I think this better describes “Republicans” rather than true Conservatives. I am a Liberal but I see the conservative view and appreciate it as a balancing factor opposite the Liberal view. The games that Democrats and MUCH MORE SO, the REPUBLICANS play are outside the true Liberal and Conservative positions.
