A penny for your thoughts. That's not very much. Don't take it personally. It's just an old expression. Thought up my Mr. JC Penney himself as an early marketing slogan. You're making that up. Perhaps- but you never hear anyone say, a Sears for your thoughts.
I was just talking to my son about Sears the other day. They were primarily known for their great Craftsman tools and appliances and mowers. Today I am not sure where one is at. They closed the Rocky Mount one and HAven’t looked in Raleigh. Their owner K-Mart? Went in one years ago and it was dark, little on the shelves, and very few people there. Very Sad. Penney’s is at least hanging in there but the quality of their clothes as really gone down. Stafford used to be great, now they shrink like other cheap clothes.
