Rune Malterud and Stian Aker of Norway, skied almost continuously for 17 days, 11 hours, to win the Amundsen South Pole Race, crossing Antarctica to reach the South Pole before 5 other teams! Architect Mark Aretz discovered an East German apartment that had been abandoned and untouched since before the fall of the Berlin wall in November 1989- nearly 20 years ago! In 2008, 73-year-old Ken Mink made the basketball team at Roane State Community College in Harriman, Tenn., USA.
