If one rat eats the poisoned morsel, every rat in the building can come smell the poison in the food their dead comrade ate and will never touch that kind of food again.I’ve had pet rats for years. They are very smart, friendly and have no objectional odor. As long as you keep the cage cleaned. They hate soiled cages, if urine is alowed to build up it hurts their respitory system.My rats have enjoyed cataloupe, cilantro, chocolate, whitch is good for them if they have respiratory illness for some reason. The will do anything to get avocado. but don’t like peanuts.
