The Freedom Caucus is an alligator and Paul Ryan is standing between its jaws. Freedom Caucus: Ok... I promise not to chomp down too hard!
Even before he becomes Speaker, he’s kowtowing to the extreme right wing. He signed a letter from the gang of 40, written by Alabama representative Mo Brooks. Specifically, it extracts Ryan’s word that he will not bring up comprehensive immigration reform “so long as Barack Obama is president” and, as speaker, Ryan will not allow any immigration bill to reach the floor..So as usual, the HFC is screaming that it’s their way or nothing at all.
“Making Obama Fail” is still Job One, and t’hell with the rest of the country.
