Trump actually looked on his stay at Walter Reed as an incarceration – as long as he was there he felt constrained – it was not his choice to be there and he has always viewed being in hospital as a sign of weakness.
Trump has always been in total control of all facets of his life and the fact that he appeared to not be in control was anathema to him. The display on the Truman balcony was extremely telling – he was clearly having trouble breathing after climbing the stairway and there was a decided “wobble” to his stance once he got there. (and the removal of the mask was pure theatrics and and also completely stupid in that it demonstrated his complete disregard for the White House staff, to boot!)
Trump was high on the steroids the gave him – they mask your feelings – I’ve no doubt he felt great (better than he has in 20 years) but that won’t last – he will come down off his steroid high unless they maintain dosing him – he needs to have a long “heart-to-heart” with his buddy, Rush, about the dangers of addiction – the particular steroid he’s on has side-effects of mental instability and since Trump is already unstable…
