First Tattoo My dad drew this when I was young, so it has a lot of meaning to me... Tattoos # 2 + 3... Yeah I suppose these represent specific times in my life... Tattoos # 4,5,6... Honestly, I just like getting 'em. Tattoo # ??? What should I get today?? How about a giraffe?? I kinda like giraffes. Whatever!
Tattoos are often called “Body Art,” these days. I’ve been chastised by younger people, often young women, for criticizing their tattoos. And you know, it’s none of my business. Each generation has its follies..But I can’t help but remember my uncles, having fought in WWII, who had battleships on their chests and anchors on their arms, and little naked women that rode discreetly on their shoulders under shirts. When they got heavier in old age, and with beer bellies and manbreasts, the tattoos looked terrible..Life is absurd. Eventually I’ll sit on a park bench somewhere with a bucket of popcorn, feed the birds, and laugh at characters in the human comedy walk by..And no doubt they’ll laugh at me. That’s started already! “Est quod est.”
