The master of pre-emption strikes again. (Bush: Previous rulers ignored problems until they became problems. Not me! We need nasal reform now!) The call for change is received cooly at first. (Woman: In its present form the nose provides smell and breath to humanity. It even modulates the voice. Where is this "nasal crisis" bush is talking about?) But persistent media attention forces everyone to accept the inevitability of change. (Woman 2: I like Bush's plan to retrofit humans with halliburton's anteater-based neo-nose. I knew this nose wouldn't be here for me when I retire.) (Woman 3: I'll part with the septum but binary nostrils stay!) And so: compromise carries the day. (Woman 2: This plan is voluntary. We can go back to our old noses any time.) (Woman 3: Just look at the lockbox!)
