Number of Al Qaeda fighters in Afghanistan: "fewer than 100" -Gen. James Jones, Obama's National Security Advisor. "For every one Al Qaeda fighter, the U.S. will commit 1,000 troops and $300,000,000 a year." -ABC News Man: This is worse than Macy's perfume counter the night before Valentine's day!
motivemagus - what you think is of no consequence.
The WTC was a white elephant, half empty and up for demolition (asbestos) anyway. Renovating it would have made no sense economically because it was not and would never have been profitable. Destroying it was (certainly for Larry Silverstein: when he insured the WTC for 3.5 billion dollars and after the attack claimed twice the amount because it was a double whammy).
edmondd - Of course people got killed. Catering personnel, cleaners, lower office personnel etc. But only about 3,000. The Powers That Be only needed a few (thousand) casualties, not 10,000.
10,000 would have been the total number of casualties if the highly trained professionals who executed the attack had waited just one more hour. This shows the killers restrained themselves - something true terrorists would certainly not have done.
For any illegal war you just need a token number of friendly casualties.
