Actually, I’ve interpreted the Democrats desire to get rid of the filibuster as the opposite – they fear losing control of the WH, House, and Senate and therefore want to pass legislation now. Also, many Democrats fundamentally disagree with the filibuster believing super majorities for all legislation is undemocratic.
