I’m a bit shellshocked this morning, I got an email yesterday from my line manager to say that a colleague of ours had been rushed to hospital on Sunday evening. He’s been diagnosed with leukemia, and they operated on Monday afternoon to relieve the pressure in his brain. Unfortunately he didn’t make it, he was in his early forties and has left a wife and young son. He was in our Microsoft Teams video meeting on Friday and told us that he had to self isolate as he’d just had a covid test. Apparantly he’d been getting headaches and it was thought that it was covid related. He was well liked at work, a good guy. He was very fit, he used to do charity bike rides. I don’t know what to say really, other than Well, Crap! I spoke to another colleague who only saw the emails this morning, he couldn’t really believe it either.
