kids: trick or treat! dad: actually. i'd like to see the trick! i must admit, i'm impressed.
At my house, the rule is “Tricks for treats”. If a kid can’t come up with ANYTHING to do for their “trick”, they don’t get candy. I go easy on the little ones (a toddler princess can do a twirl and I’ll call it a great trick, and maybe even give double treats) but those teens who don’t even bother with a costume? They better come up with something GOOD!
