dad: hold your head tight, because i'm about to blow your mind!! the tides work against the rotation of the earth, causing the planet to spin slower, adding time to each day! in fact, when dinosaurs were alive, their day was just 23 hours long! thatababy: i should have held my head tighter!
Current theory is that at one point the day was 12 – 14 hours. Aren’t we lucky the rotation slowed just enough to match our clocks?
