The Born Loser by Art and Chip Sansom for September 15, 2011
Transcript:
Wilberforce: Cottage cheese and water, Mom? Gladys: I need to lose some weight. Wilberforce: Gee, Mom, you sure have a lot of trouble losin' weight! Gladys: Actually, I don't have trouble losing weight - my problem is I seem to keep finding it again!
It is genetics, I know someone who can eat an entire gallon of ice cream at a time with all the toppings and not gain anything. He thinks that to gain weight people have to pig out more than that. Ironically his cholesteral is sky high despite having a healthy body fat ratio.
Other people on the other hand have what is called the fat gene, the university of utah was doing some studies on it a few years ago to figure out how to turn it off. They proved it existed but they ran out of funding and the researched ended. Hopefully some day it will continue, in the meantime people with an active fat gene, the less they eat the more their body saves and even if they evercise and eat as much as a two year old they can’t lose any weight.
