news of the times doug considering presidential bid a spokesman for doug, a marginally popular cartoon character, confirmed that doug is seriously looking into running for president. doug is flattered and will no longer ignore america's call. doug does seem to have support among voters. that time he fell off a cliff, and his body was rubble -- except his eyes. that totally rocked! political analyst donna diforno: americans apparently habe no problem with inexperienced candidates who say they'll hire the 'best advisors' if elected... "...so if running the office of the presidency can be done by committee, why can't the figurehead himself be created by experts?" try lowering his lip by 10 degrees. an animated interview was distributed to the media. would this reduce the presidency to a cheerful mascot? you seem to imply that reagan wasn't cheerful. doug's popularity may stem from his amorphous, generic appearance which allows voters to project themselves onto him. doug's for the little guy -- he knows about discrimination and injustice. doug's a regular guy -- the kind of guy with a riding mower and back problems from a high school football injury. and the fact that doug is owned by nerrex corp meand that he doesn't need contributions. i'm owned by a corporation... so i can't be bought by corporate america! doug: you've heard of him. so vote for him.
