This seems like as good a place as any to mention that Thanos’s plan just seemed stupid to me. I don’t know about the rest of the universe, but if you simply killed off half of Earth’s population by lot, you’re still left with 3.5 billion people (who are, on the whole, as healthy and viable for reproduction as the ones who died), which is where we were around 1970. Is he gonna have to do the whole Infinity Gauntlet thing again every 50 years? It looked to me like the Infinity Stones were pretty much burnt out after a single use.
If you don’t do anything to limit doubling time, then population control by wholesale cutting-out is only a short-term solution.
