The US has been replacing forest since 1940 after some decline due mostly to urbanization. In New England (and the east coast in general) we have more trees now, despite urbanization than we did in colonial times when we were primarily an agrarian society. The US is committed to growing our forests. The problem isn’t here, folks, it’s in other parts of the world.
