Just as a note, it was the timber industry and grazing folks that fought prescription burns for decades, before they’d pretty well wiped things out, and finally saw that clear cuts and plantations, or overgrazing was NOT THE SAME as prescribed burning. Doing some of that clearing of heavy fuels, and burning, in Yosemite in the early 70’s showed the tremendous IMPROVEMENT in conditions. From the efforts inside the park, the benefits were then shown outside as well.
Climate change, forestry, range management, and other interactions between the physical and biological environments ARE complex. That is exactly why sound bites from folks as ignorant as Limbots are empty.
Yep, those plants that became oil were around during a warmer time period, but the Rocky Mountains, and the Himalayas, were not. Purina doesn’t make Dino-chow either- and the time frames for those changes were a lot greater than what we’re seeing happen from human impacts. As the really BIG changes probably won’t occur for a century or so, it doesn’t mean the smaller changes we’re seeing already won’t drastically effect not only our kids and grandkids, but some of us.
Ignorance is bliss, and the “deniers” are just smiling away, and full of it.
