In his farewell address, Eisenhower warned it would require an educated and informed electorate in order to avoid the excesses of the military industrial complex. It is said his draft for that address included the word Congressional along with military and industrial. It seems those three have taken his words to heart and endeavored to make us as uninformed and uneducated as possible(a hypothesis I"m willing to discuss) In the meantime,military officers and legislators who aided companies in their efforts to have systems and services purchased (even systems NOT in the best interest of the military) have retired to well paying jobs. Some have become lobbyists where they use relationships and inside info to keep the corruption moving.We can do better.btw, NightGaunt, DID you see the posts I mentioned above?
