The worst part of this “growth” is that the world added ONE BILLION in the LAST ELEVEN YEARS. Now add the abandonment of trying to keep the warming at less than 1.5 degrees and the resulting consequences to all forms of life.
We are starting to see the pressure that is being put on established stable societies as those trying to survive become refugees. The picture will be more of a horror one in less than a half generation from now.
I still question the billions being spent for space exploration while not addressing the destruction of the oceans, threats to the food supply and plant world, and dwindling potable water supply. For example, wouldn’t it be better to have mass desalination of ocean water to supply more irrigated land and to try to lower the rate of the rising oceans that are displacing so many people? (Yes, I realize that the plan would have to include what to do with all that salt.)
