Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch say the IDF have used white phosphorous shells against populated areas in Lebanon and Gaza. The UN said a UN base was hit by chunks of burning white phosphorous.
(White phosphorous is used to make smoke but should never be used in civilian areas as the burning phosphorous creates such horrid wounds. It makes an excellent weapon against civilians because you can claim ‘Whoops, didn’t mean to do that’ and likely get away with it.)
Or a white phosphorous artillery shell.
