Nancy debuted in the comic strip Fritzi Ritz by Ernie Bushmiller in 1933. Fritzi adopted her orphaned niece, who soon became the star. The strip's name changed to Nancy in 1938. We're ringing in the New Year with the history of Nancy! Aunt Fritzi says, "Life in Hollywood isn't all I thought it would be---" Nancy says, "A Nice drive in the country might lift our spirits---" Aunt Fritzi says, "You know, Nancy- I feel like just driving out of here---and keep on driving till we get home to our old house---but that's silly---first I'd have to---" Hollywood 15 miles Nancy says, "I packed our bags- they're in the trunk" Aunt Fritzi says, "Goodbye, Hollywood"
