Gene: Nobody was criticizing you! Mary Lou: Oh, yes you were! I'm the mother! I'm the woman! I'm supposed to do it all! Mary Lou: If it's difficult balancing work and home, tough! It's all my fault! Pop: We were talking about the way things are! Pop: The hospitality trade is demanding! It can be very difficult for young families! Mary Lou: Are we just now getting around to finding that out?
Why is it that when a woman is in a bad mood, it’s “she’s pregnant” or “she’s PMSing”? Ever thought that it’s okay for a woman to have a bad day? After all, a man can have a bad day, why not a woman?
And Flossie is right, you never hear the term “working dad”. It’s always “working mom”. Even if the woman isn’t working outside the home, believe it or not guys, SHE IS WORKING. Especially if there are small children around. Cooking, cleaning, grocery, errands, taking care of sick kids, helping with homework, laundry, etc. The list and work is always on going.
