I love Mom saying “Do not sit on that!”. Reminds me of a friend of mine from elementary school, he lived a couple of blocks from me with his Grandmother. One winter day after school she actually told us not to sit on the couch in their family room because we might dirty the plastic cover on it so we went back outside to ride our bikes around a bit more as we thought she just wanted us to stay outside instead of watch TV which was our intention. Later on, my friend said one time his older sister asked their Grandma why there was even a plastic cover on the couch if no one was allowed to sit on it and she told her “Don’t be fresh and go to your room”. Obviously the girl was disrespectful but I would like to know the logic behind the plastic cover from Grandma…..
